Dear reader a scripture came to mind last night that got me thinking. It is from the bible  Mark 7:15 (King James Version):

“There is nothing outside the man which can defile him if it goes into him; but the things which proceed out of the man are what defile the man”

Now I am well aware that Jesus explained what he meant in that context but it got me wondering about how we perceive people and their actions and I came to a few realizations that I’d like to share with you. Please note that these are my thoughts and are not meant to be all-encompassing. Please take time and think on them and hold them close if they resonate. Oh and here are some other scriptures that relate to this topic: Matthew 5:11, Proverbs 4:23.

I believe that people are truly not our problem or obstacles. That every stumbling block we have attributed to others ultimately starts and ends on the inside of us. I am of the opinion that people are not our “salvation”. That hurt and healing begins and ends within and that there is no need for us as individuals to despair over the works of another because we are ultimately never at the mercy of another. Every human is connected and our actions (and in-actions) do affect our neighbors to a degree but I believe that our victory, progress and manifestation is invested wholly in our hands and NOT in the hands of another. So rather than looking to others as “obstacles” or “opportunities”, let us instead look within for progress. No matter what people on the outside say or do, it is You shape Your reality and no one can take that away from You.

I don’t know about you dear reader but I believe that this habit of blaming others for our present state is a self-defeating one and needs to come to an end. No human is our damnation or our salvation. You are the door and the key to your own happiness. Choose your own vibration. You can write your own script.

Have at it 🙂
